Over the weekend, students from Association International School (AIS Ghana) put on a phenomenal adaptation of Mbogeni Ngema’s “Sarafina” on the 10th and 11th of February 2023.

This student-led production was the brainchild of our IBDP1 students with support from the Performing Arts Department of AIS Ghana.  “Sarafina” marks the first time we have held a live production in our new ultra-modern Five Loaves and Two Fish Auditorium and our first production post-COVID-19. Our previous musicals, Disney’s “Aladdin” and DreamWorks’ “The Prince of Egypt” were all held outside our campus. Notwithstanding their hectic schedules, multiple rehearsals, and tired limbs, the cast and crew put on 3 solid live performances.

Many patrons of the event gushed about the creativity, confidence, and dexterity that the students displayed. They brought the color, magic, and sound of South Africa to life on stage and thrilled all the attendees at the sold-out show.
